17 Weeks - A's Entry

Here I sit or lay actually on the table/bed in the doctor's office. Today is
the first "real" measurement of the babies. My stomach feels a little tight.
A giveaway that I am a little nervous even though I won't quite admit it to myself.
J, on the other hand has readily admitted it. We've decided that she is better just standing by
the phone in case I need her than coming to most of the visits.
Luckily I've got the nice ultrasound tech today. She moves the scanning
piece across my belly marking each babies abdomen, head, legs and who knows
what else. I watch it all fearing any pause may mean a problem with that
baby. She finishes and the machine totals each babies weight. I am just shy
of 17 weeks and the babies weigh 8oz, 6oz and 6oz. Right where they should
be based on size and development. The ultrasound tech has confirmed what the
tech in the Ob/Gyn office said two weeks ago about the sex of the babies.
Two boys and a girl. So I leave with my ultrasound pictures.... mostly of
the babies genetalia.
