Babies have fun in the sun
I said I would update you on how are busy first weekend of the summer went. Well, my Brother and his family arrived on Friday night and we got up on Saturday to meet them. We packed up the goodies, including baby bottles, baby float toys, towels and diaper bags. The portable baby stroller, which we seem to get the most use out of, and gerber. Off we were - van loaded to the gills. (pardon the pun).
We went first to their hotel where they were enjoying some time in the pool. It was hot outside, around 90-95 degrees. The babies were all ready to eat so once they had a bottle, we hit the pool. Benjamin loved it. He kicked his legs and splashed the best he could. He even would attempt to stick his face in the water. Twice he was successful and I expected each time that might be his last attempt. But after a sour face and getting over the initial shock, he smiled and laughed.
Sammy was next in the water. He has been have some problems with teething lately, so I don't konw if he was 100%, but he sat in the inflatable whale and explored the water. Livi wasn't as found of it, but she did like to sit with her uncle on a kick board watching everyone from the second step.
On Sunday we went to the beach. Granted it was 5:00 before we arrived there, but that turned out to be a good time as the sun was less direct and the beach was less crowed and cooled off a bit. We again had a picnic in the sand, but this time each baby spent a bit more time in the wave pools left from the tide. They are perfect for kids. Livi actually sat down in the water, which then only came up just past her waist, and I put the sand over her feet so she could wiggle her toes out and pick up the sand while the water washed it out of her fingers.
All in all it went pretty well. I think the beach might be our new summer activity!
