Growing... and moving..
Well we are nearing a year. It is hard to believe that only one year ago this journey began. I will say it, I am exhausted. Above each of their cribs is an early onesie each wore in the hospital. It seems they would now fit only their thighs. How quickly they grow.
When they were first born, people would often say to us, "Just wait until they can move...then you are in trouble". You know what? They were right. It changes and I dare say, it does get harder.
Last night A went to put down Sammy and I was just leaving the nursery to set down Livi. This meant that Benjamin was alone in the living room. Mind you, everything we own seems to be secured to the wall or carefully mounted over 4 feet in height, but there is always that unsuspected something.
I went into the living room to find Benjamin in his walker. Okay, nothing strange there - except of course that he was backwards. Let me start with a visual of the walker in comparison to Benjamin. The tray of the walker would come up to approx. his upper chest. That in mind, he is backwards in the walker and with one leg through a leghole. The other leg was bent underneath him and he was pulling and grunting his way out. I looked at him and said, okay Monkey - what are you up to? He looked at me with that grin.... you know that grin. The one that scares you when it comes from someone not even a year old and yet says to you... I know I shouldn't be doing this, so lets agree to agree that I know and then take a moment to notice how cute I am doing it. OKay, right.
A came back into the room and I, assuming that she had in fact dropped him in, even though backwards, just to buy enough time to set down Sammy. I asked her, did you put Benjamin in here? No she said, Why? In 30 seconds, maybe less, Mr. Antigravity had climbed INTO the walker. Walkers added to the "No Longer Safe List". That leaves his crib.... no wait. What is left on the list????
